Palestinian man spray painting message of appreciation for American university students

A Palestinian man who took refuge in Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, thanked US students for their support for the enclave, with a message written on tents.

Abu Yusuf Hamed, 43, did not remain silent about demonstrations in support of Gaza, which started at Columbia University and spread to universities around the world.

“Thank you, American universities. Thank you students in solidarity with Gaza. Your message has arrived,” Hamed spray painted on tents in Rafah.

Hamed told Anadolu that he expects all countries to take the protesting students as an example.

An initial encampment was held at Columbia University in New York, where more than 100 students were reportedly arrested.

The pro-Palestine US campus movement has seen a ripple effect in other countries as well, including the UK, France, Australia, Turkey and Iran.
